This is the format we would like for you to use for your first post in your team forum. You can edit this post as the mock goes on. Things don't have to be in this order, but it would be nice to include this information.

    Staff:
    Owner:
    Scout:
    Financial Advisor:
    etc.

    Salary cap:
Starting Amount: (can be found in the NFL Offseason forum)

    Transactions:
-describe the players you added/subtracted (include method aka trade, free agent signing, franchise tag etc.)
-write down the effect this transaction had on your salary cap. (provide a link proving player's current salary if transaction is trade/cut)

(example: I own the Bengals and we trade Carson Palmer. His base salary for the 2009 season is 6.75 million dollars. So releasing Palmer opens up 6.75 million dollars for the Bengals, increasing our salary cap.)
*we will be working solely off of base salaries for this mock draft, signing bonuses etc. will not be taken into effect)

    Roster:
Keep an updated list of your roster on hand on the forum

    Trade Block:

    Untouchable players:
Lets other teams know that some players just aren't available.

    Draft Picks:
Keep an updated list of your draft picks

    Anything else you want:
    make it your own!

Are we doing cap hits for releasing some players?

Like Jansen on the Redskins has I think a 2-2.5 mil contract next season, but releasing him would give us a 3.5 mil or so cap penalty.

If we are doing cap hits, how do I know which players get a cap hit and how much of a cap hit?

http://www.rotoworld.com has a lot of great NFL contract information available. Usually if there are roster bonuses or anything like that they are a good site to check look into. There are other links too that I'm sure some guys will post.

If it is a player that was on your team that is becoming an UFA, then you have to issue them an offer just like the other teams do.
*read rules for procedures on how to sign FA's.

Also, teams will have a slight advantage on REsigning their guys over their guys going to new teams. No guarantees, but if the FA committee believes that player was happy, it won't be too hard to bring them back...as long as your recruitment letter is alright.
